Amber has extensive experience in defense litigation arising from aviation, and other high-profile matters. Amber has successfully represented clients in state and federal court, and has served as defense counsel in jury trials, mediations, and arbitrations. She has broad experience in issues arising out of major airline and general aviation incidents. Amber’s clients range from domestic and foreign commercial air carriers, airline employees, general aviation operators and service providers, and manufacturers.

Amber recently took a break from her usual law practice, spending five years in London with the Media Legal Defence Initiative (now: Media Defence), an international human rights organization that provides legal defense to journalists, citizen journalists and independent media around the world who are under threat for their reporting. Amber supported MLDI’s litigation in Africa, Asia, Europe, and Latin America. She has experience with international courts and human rights tribunals, including the European Court of Human Rights, Inter-American Court of Human Rights, UN Human Rights Committee, and the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights. She helped develop trainings on freedom of expression and national and international litigation strategies for lawyers in Europe, Central Asia, Southeast Asia, East and Southern Africa.

Amber earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Communications from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. After working as a media buyer for a major advertising company in Atlanta and Chicago for three years, she earned her Juris Doctorate degree from DePaul University, College of Law. Amber is admitted to practice in California, and has been ranked multiple times as a Rising Star and Super Lawyer by her peers.
